IHC Global’s advocacy agenda is based on the belief that:

• Rapid and increasing urbanization is one of the key global challenges in the 21st century;
• Great opportunities for innovation, productivity, economic growth and quality of life improvements are to be found within this urban growth and that these are enhanced by more equitable development;
• Too many fundamental barriers stand in the way of greater equality; and
• Much can be accomplished to strengthen cities and make them better places for all citizens if they work together, with a shared vision, keeping sight of the “big picture” while focusing on specific, local issues.
