IHC Global and The Wilson Center host first urban policy roundtable of 2018

WASHINGTON DC, April 19, 2018- IHC Global and the Wilson Center held their first urban research roundtable of 2018, featuring speakers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the State Department and USAID, and a special appearance from the new UN-Habitat New York Liaison Office Director, Chris Williams. Speakers from each U.S. government department discussed the U.S. involvement in the ninth World Urban Forum in February, their key takeaways from the conference, and their urban-focused plans for the UN High-level Political Forum and FY18 in general.  Williams then offered valuable insight into UN-Habitat’s next steps to implement SDG11 and the New Urban Agenda. Representatives from organizations such as Urban Institute, Habitat for Humanity International and the World Bank were also in attendance, and engaged with the speakers in a dialogue about their urban priorities.
