
IHC Global and the Wilson Center host final Urban Policy Roundtable in 2017
WASHINGTON, DC, December 4, 2017- IHC Global and the Wilson Center held the third and final urban policy roundtable for 2017, featuring speakers from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the State Department. The roundtable was attended by representatives from the U.S. Government, including USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the State Department and HUD; several universities, including University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and George Washington University; and international and civil society organizations, such as the World Bank, the UN Foundation, Habitat for Humanity International, Next City, the Ford Foundation, the Affordable Housing Institute, the Urban Institute, and more. Speakers and participants discussed the prospective U.S. participation in the upcoming ninth World Urban Forum, which will occur in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in February 2018, and shared their individual plans and expectations for the conference. At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees agreed to collaborate with IHC Global to create an index of U.S. organizations attending WUF9 and their schedules for the conference, in order to aid the official U.S. Government WUF presence.
